U/RTA sends the Handbook for Actors and Coaches and the Designer Guidelines to each candidate upon receipt of application and fee. These invaluable publications are meant to be shared with each candidate's coach.
Items covered in include the Screening Audition process, what to wear, selection of material, how to format an U/RTA audition, how to prepare for the callback process and much more. Designers will find an overview of the day, how best to prepare an U/RTA portfolio and other helpful suggestions.
These documents are not meant to be a creative straitjacket, but rather a source of good, common advice, some of which applies to auditions and portfolio presentations in general, and not just the U/RTA process. They should be consulted as your prepare for your URTA audition or portfolio review.
The files are PDFs, so you will need Acrobat to read them, but please save a tree - printed copies will be sent to each applicant upon receipt of their application and fee.
