Picture Yourself @ Temple University

Featuring: Ariel Wang (MFA Costume Design Student)

Where is your go-to spot for a quick bite to eat on or near campus?

It’s definitely the two famous food trucks right outside the theater building: Burger Tank and Temple Creperie. As the name suggested, Burger Tank has the best burgers and grilled cheese. Temple Creperie has both savory and sweet crepes, and both of them are very delicious.

What has been your favorite part of living in Philadelphia?

I think Philadelphia is an arts and culture city, which is a perfect place for art students. The Philadelphia Museum of Art is a precious source for research and study, or simply a great place to enjoy the arts. The Rodin Museum, The Barnes Foundation, Theaters along Broad Street, and the Philadelphia Orchestra; Philadelphia will never let you feel bored.

How do you think the last year of your MFA will differ from the first two years?

In my last year of the program I will put more attention to my thesis. At the same time, I’m trying to take classes in other areas, such as Scene Design. It will allow me to have more understanding of other design elements of theater so that I will be prepared to work better with colleague designers after graduation.
