What is your favorite coffee shop on or near campus?

Since we are located in Seattle, I can’t pick just one coffee shop! Slate for best coffee, Solstice for best brownies and nicest baristas, and Allegro for closest to class.

What has been your favorite production you have been in since starting at University of Washington?

My favorite production was The Cradle Will Rock, directed by program head Valerie Curtis-Newton. She directed this as an opener to the school’s 75 year, and the cast was comprised of current grad students, undergrads, teachers and alumni. It was a great mix of backgrounds from which to learn and play.

Why did you choose University of Washington?

I chose University of Washington for two reasons. First, it felt important to study theatre in a city that has theatre, to keep up with what is going on. I wanted a place with more than just one or two theatres. Second, I was very insistent on choosing a well-rounded program that would let me experiment with different types of training. Our faculty members couldn’t be more different, and I mean that in the best way possible! There is also a great balance of traditional acting training, and learning how to create new work.
